Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev took part in the closing ceremony for the Year of Youth and launched the Year of Volunteer in the country. The event hosted by the EXPO Business Center was attended by about 500 youth representatives from all regions of the country, including leaders of the Students Alliance of Kazakhstan, participants of the Zhas Kasipker Project (Young Entrepreneur), representatives of a volunteer movement and a laureate of the Daryn State Youth Prize.
The official ceremony of the opening the Year of Volunteer was prefaced with the idea to implement a large-scale action plan aimed at providing comprehensive support to vulnerable groups of the population and increasing the activity of the civil society.
“Volunteering is not just unpaid work, it is a testimony of citizens' responsibility and their willingness to change the world for the better,” said the Head of State.
Furthermore, the creation of ArtHUB, a center to support creative initiatives, on the territory of the EXPO Business Districtwas announced at the ceremony as well. An intellectual youth bank of Kazakhstan will permanently operate in the center. Along with major projects such as AIFC, Astana Hub, It-University and the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects implemented by the initiative of Elbasy N. Nazarbayev, the ArtHUB Center will give a new boost to the development of the EXPO Business District.
In the course of the ceremony, Mr. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also invited employees of state bodies and national companies to corporate volunteering.
The National Company always takes part in environmental events organized in the capital city and republican social projects, Astana EXPO-2017 has enthusiastically supported the initiative proposed by the President and is set for contributing to the development of Kazakhstan.
